For Students
The SEDNA Permafrost Networking Platform is open to students from all disciplines, at any level of higher education, and from any country across the Arctic and beyond.
All internships focus on permafrost or seasonal frost processes, though additional topics may also be included. Some hosts may require prior coursework or experience in related subjects.

Internships can take place at any time of year and vary in length. They may be paid or unpaid, depending on the host organization.

To participate as a SEDNA intern, you’ll need a supervisor at your home institution and must follow your university’s requirements for internships. If your supervisor is not yet certified through SEDNA, they can become certified—or you can work with a certified SEDNA supervisor.

Already have a potential host in mind? Students are welcome to find their own internship placements related to permafrost science and then contact the SEDNA team to explore available funding and support. We can help ensure your internship aligns with the program and connect you with additional resources to strengthen your experience.
