For Students

The PermaIntern program is open for students in all disciplines, at any level of university education, and in any Nordic country.

All internships focus on permafrost or seasonal frost processes. Prior educational experience in these (or other) topics may be required by some of our internship hosts.

Internship projects may be of any duration and at any time of the year.

As a student in PermaIntern, you need a supervisor at your home university and you should follow your home university's rules for internships within your educational programs. If you don't have a certified PermaIntern supervisor at your home institution, you can ask your supervisor to get certified (check out the "For Supervisors" tab) or team up with a certified PermaIntern supervisor. Certified supervisors are listed on the "This is us" page.

Do you want to participate as a pilot intern in the fall of 2024? Check out the Internships tab to find available internships. You can also contact us using the button below.

PermaIntern

We are developing a Permafrost Internship service available to interested students, university and internship hosts, covering the full variety of permafrost working life activities from university research to engineering company work. The program is under development with the first pilot internships planned for the spring of 2024.
